Hiring Pomeranz was a wise decision

A recent news conference held in the Veterans Memorial Building lobby focused on presenting Cedar Rapids City Manager Jeff Pomeranz to the community. Hiring Jeff for this position is a wise decision I heartily applaud.

I have known Jeff and his extraordinary family for years. As one of my best friends throughout high school in New York, Jeff has always been a thoughtful, intelligent and creative individual. There were many great times, and it is fantastic that his high standards and quality personality have led to such amazing career achievements.

According to Mayor Ron Corbett, “Jeff Pomeranz has a proven track record.” Before this appointment, Jeff gained extensive city governing experience working in Des Moines, Port Angeles, Wash., and Del Rio, Texas.

He also has been called “the consummate professional” by Cedar Rapids City Council member Kris Gulick. I certainly wish Jeff the very best.
