Klein, Viola E.
Viola E. Klein, 87, of Manchester, died March 27, 2010, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, and one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
Viola was born June 22, 1922, in Earlville, to Thomas and Frances (Haas) Moorman. She attended school in Earlville. On Nov. 28, 1944, Viola was united in marriage to Joseph Klein at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manchester. The couple farmed near Dundee for 42 years before moving to Manchester in 1989.
Viola was a homemaker and helped on the family farm raising five children. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren.
Viola is survived by her husband, Joe Klein of Manchester; five children, Dennis (JoAnn) Klein of Hiawatha, Diann (Thomas) Hayes of Lamont, Stephen (Debbie) Klein of West Branch, Sue (Dan) Lynch of Farley and Jon (Mick) Klein of Dundee; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Frances Moorman; one grandson, Derek Bauer; five sisters and five brothers.
