Swenka, Glenn A.
Glenn A. Swenka, 52, of Oxford, passed away Feb. 25, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from complications following a courageous battle with a long term illness. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Brosh Chapel, 100 S. Cedar St., Solon. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Following the visitation there will be a celebration of life in memory of Glenn at the Dawg House in Oxford.
Glenn was born Aug. 24, 1960, the son of Edward and Mary B. (Klima) Swenka. He was raised on the family farm in Oxford, and graduated from Clear Creek Community High School in 1978.
He was survived by his father, Edward of Solon; children, Stephanie (Eric) of North Liberty and Tiffany of Spencer; three grandchildren, Jaiden, Camdyn and Destinee of Spencer; significant other, Debra Ranshaw of Oxford; three sisters, Ardis (Dave) of Frisco, Texas, Becky (Robert) Kaefring of Lakeville, Minn., and Carol Swartz of North Liberty; three brothers, Keever (Gloria) Swenka of Solon, Dennis (Linda) Swenka of Morse and Charles Swenka of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a niece, Darla Sevcik.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
