Kohls, Danny R.
Danny R. Kohls, 46, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis., as the result of injuries suffered in a swimming accident. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien. Inurnment: Illyria Cemetery, Elgin, with military honors accorded graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time Monday.
He was born Nov. 20, 1964, in West Union, Iowa, the son of Charles and Juanita (Robbins) Kohls. He served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm and later in the 229th Army National Guard. He was currently employed as an ironworker for Kramer Construction and belonged to Ironworkers Local 383.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Kohls of McGregor; his sons, Spencer and Austin, both of Clermont; his mother, Juanita (Terry) Lang of McGregor; his brother, Terry (Robin) Lang of McGregor; his sisters, Suzette (Alan) Cunningham of Prairie du Chien, Angie (Steve) Schultz of Oak Harbor, Wash., Heidi (Mike) Dickman of McGregor, Shelly (Mitch) Espinosa of Chanhassen, Minn., and Diane (Mike) Baker of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
