Siders, Elizabeth A. 'Betty'

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Siders, 68, of 516 Fifth Ave., Coralville, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City from breast cancer. Elizabeth chose to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to breast cancer research.

Betty was born June 10, 1941, the daughter of Hazen and Irene Loan. Moving to Iowa City at an early age, she worked at Procter & Gamble for many years. Betty worked a candy and vending machine route in the Iowa City area. It was on that route that she met her future husband. Betty was united in marriage to Wayne Siders on Sept. 10, 1984, in Elk Point, S.D. She then worked in housekeeping at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. While working for the university, Betty & Wayne owned and operated Fifth Avenue Janitorial Service.

During the years of raising her children, Betty was active with their schools – St. Patrick's Grade School and Regina High School, as well as their Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troops.

Betty is survived by her husband, Wayne; four sons, Greg, Gary, Scott and John; and two brothers, J. Patrick Loan and H. Francis Loan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
