WILLIAM LLOYD SETTLE

William Lloyd Settle, 86, died peacefully at home early Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016.
Bill was born Oct. 14, 1930, in State Center, Iowa, to Frank and Gladys Settle. He married Donna Anfinson on March 22, 1953, in Nevada, Iowa. They lived in Cedar Rapids for 53 years, and in 2015, moved to Pleasant Hill,
to be close to family.
Bill was involved in selling farm and industrial equipment in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, retiring in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna; two sons, Todd (Sarah) of Norwalk and Tim (Carol) Conifer of Colorado; eight grandchildren, Kathryn Cox (Christopher) of Tulsa, Okla., David (Rachael) of West Des Moines, Stephanie Taylor (Andrew) and Erik Settle of Lawrence, Kan., and Mary, William, James and Theresa of Norwalk; and two great-grandchildren, Leona and Edward of Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother and an infant grandson.
Bill was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family. He was an avid golfer, reader and traveler. He and Donna traveled numerous times to Europe, as well as to Fiji and New Zealand.
The body has been cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to the Des Moines Animal Rescue League or the Linn Country Animal Shelter.
