An Iowa City woman was arrested Sunday after police say she fought with officers and grabbed a Taser during a traffic stop.
Mary L. Bobotaylor, 47, of 4494 Taft Ave. No. 22B, was stopped for speeding at 3:18 a.m. Sunday at Highway 1 and Miller Avenue.
While Bobotaylor was being processed for OWI, police say she began actively resisting and fighting with officers. A Taser was deployed and during the ongoing struggle to regain control of Bobotaylor, she grabbed the Taser and pulled it away from officers, who let it go to avoid discharging it in her face, according to police reports.
Bobotaylor was charged with second-offense OWI, assault on a peace officer, disarming a peace officer of a dangerous weapon and driving while her license was revoked.
Bobotaylor remained in the Johnson County Jail Monday on a $17,500 cash bond.
