Kluck, Lloyd B. 'L.B.'
Lloyd B. Kluck “L.B.,” of Hartford, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. He was 80 years old.
He was born June 5, 1933, to Ruth (nee Fuller) and Harry Kluck in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Barbara E. McGeough on June 4, 1955, at St. Patrick's Church in Tacoma, Wash. Lloyd was an all-state wrestler at McKinley High and was a championship wrestler while in the Navy stationed in Guam. He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Lloyd was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. His family was his life. He was very involved in his grandchildren's lives and activities, any event they had, he was present. Lloyd helped coach Little League and Legion Baseball for years. He was the biggest supporter of the Hartford Hawks. Lloyd retired from being an electrician at American Motors after 35 years. He was also a member of the Hartford VFW Post 8834, Hartford Historical Home Tour, Corvette Club and the morning crew at McDonald's. He loved his dog Maggie, his corvette, fishing and traveling.
Lloyd is survived by his children, Kathy (Blaine) Lauersdorf of Rubicon, Wis., and Kevin (Becky) Kluck of Hustisford, Wis.; his daughter-in-law, Mary Kluck of Hartford; eight grandchildren, Ben, Jim (Sara), Tom, Connie (Jonathan), Matt (Ashley), Kim (Mike), Len and Anthony; sisters, Joan Weldon of Cedar Rapids and Carole (Redge) Henline of Texas; sisters-in-law, Sue McGeough of Brookfield, Wis., Margaret (Doc) Blanchard of Illinois and Donna Kluck of Cedar Rapids; and nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Kenny Kluck; sister, Pat (Ray) Nedrow; brothers, David “Tom” and Jim Kluck; brother-in-law, Jim McGeough; and his parents, Ruth and Harry Kluck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. Kilian Catholic Church (428 Forest St., Hartford), with Father David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Additional visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, before the Mass, at the church. Interment: St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hartford Hawks Baseball Team appreciated.
