Ruth E. Inger, 90, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, died there on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Services at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where there will be a visitation at 10 a.m. on Monday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie (Patrick) Canfield of Shueyville and Susan Kainz of Marion; a son, Roger of Robins; three sisters, Genevieve, Madonna and Eunice; and a brother, Robert Hawkins. She also is survived by two grandchildren, Aaron Kainz and Matt Baty; and a great-grandson, Nati. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Judy Baty; a son, Steven; and three brothers, Marvin, Ed and Jack.
Ruth was born on May 26, 1928, in Waterville, the daughter of Sidney and Jessie Flack Hawkins. She married Aaron J. Inger on Aug. 17, 1946, in Decorah. Aaron passed away in 2004.
Ruth enjoyed bowling, baking, cooking and fishing, and was an avid Hawkeyes, Cyclones and Chicago Cubs fan.
Ruth forever will be remembered for being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
