DES MOINES — Alburnett's attempt to return to the State Duals final came to a halt at the hands of Southeast Warren.
The third-seeded Warhawks prevented a pin in the final match, earning the 37-36 victory in the semifinals of the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 1A State Duals wrestling tournament Wednesday at Wells Fargo Arena.
Southeast Warren (38-1) used five pins to help erase a 21-3 deficit. Alburnett (27-8) had a chance to tie in the final match but Drake Sharp repeatedly fought off his back, losing to Tucker Franklin by a 17-2 technical fall.

Don Bosco (20-7) fell to top-seeded Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 34-23, in the semifinal. The Cowboys (21-1) have a chance to repeat as state dual champions.
Fifth-seeded Lisbon (24-10) fell to the Dons, 38-26, but rebounded with a 47-30 win over No. 8 Woodbury Central. The Lions will wrestle sixth-seeded Logan Magnolia (32-4) for fifth.
