Joseph Michael Scolaro-Pena, 29, of 1015 Second Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, in Mercy Medical Center. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time.
Survivors include his daughter, Alejandra Scolaro of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Dorrie Yanez of Phoenix, Ariz.; siblings, Angel Pena, of Cedar Rapids, Dawn Muniz, Letha Pfeifer, Michael Pena, all of Phoenix, Ariz., T.J. Kaylor, Troy Kaylor, both of Cedar Rapids, and Stephanie Yanez and Marissa Yanez-Ortiz, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; his grandmothers, Mildred Stearns and Linda Scolaro; and special aunt and uncle, Christine and Randy Ridenour, and Melissa Scolaro, all of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Pena; and a sister, Michelle Pena.
Joseph was born Nov. 7, 1981, in Phoenix, Ariz., the son of Michael Pena and Dorrie Yanez. He was an upcoming tattoo artist in Cedar Rapids. He loved making people smile and laugh. He loved spending time with his daughter, Alejandra.
