Peick, Doris Ann
Doris Ann Peick, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died at the Hospice House of Mercy, Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Doris is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, Ted (Roxanne) Youngton and Blaine Munson, both of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Tory Smith and Joseph Youngton; and a sister, Georgia (Al) Hoffmeister of Concord, Calif.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents.
Doris was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Martelle, to George and Doris Davis. She married Richard Peick in Marion on July 21, 1962. She served as State Representative of Iowa from 1985 to 1987 in District 52. Doris was passionate about organized labor and the Democratic Party. She was a retired 38 year employee of Rockwell Collins.
Doris was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge and the Fleet Reserve Auxiliary.
Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.
