Furmanski, Carol Marie
Carol Marie Furmanski, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, in Mission Viejo, Calif. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial's Certified Celebrant Jim Parton will officiate with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Carol is survived by her children, Tom Furmanski of Cedar Rapids, Lois (Timothy) Webb of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Robert Furmanski of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Carrie (Jeremy) Farmer; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Owen Farmer; sister, Phyllis (Norb) Brennan of Carmel, Ind.; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Barbara) Furmanski of High Point, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome “Harry” Furmanski; and her parents, Frank and Mary Czyz.
Carol was born on Oct. 24, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Mary (Ozog) Czyz. She married Jerome “Harry” Furmanski on Oct. 7, 1950, in Chicago, Ill. Carol was a receptionist for St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids from 1971 until her retirement in 1993. She was an excellent artist and enjoyed spending time with her family and art friends.
