Surviving are his wife, Jobi; daughters, Lacey (14) and Riley (10); parents, Bruce and Mary of Marion; brothers and sisters: Sarah (Bob) Barnett of Cedar Rapids and their children, Nick, Andrew and Matthew; Matthew of Cedar Rapids and his daughter, Samantha; Nathan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Anna (Russ) Oberhauser of Prairieburg and their children, Ryan, Tyler and Kyle; and Elizabeth (Derek Cibula) Gangestad of North Liberty; grandparents, Norma Gangestad and F.M. (Bud) Jorgensen, both of Atlantic, Iowa; parents-in-law, Kerry and Linda Dills; and brother-in-law, Rob (Jennifer) Dills and their children, Devin, Dax, Kenzie and Kobie.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth in October 2004; and his grandmother, Joanna in January 1996.
Adam was born Sept. 26, 1974, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Bruce and Mary Jorgensen Gangestad. Adam was a 1993 graduate of Linn-Mar High School in Cedar Rapids. On Oct. 19, 1996, Adam and Jobi Dills were united in marriage at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion. Adam had been working for Crescent Electric as a salesman out of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Anamosa for the past seven years, past president of the Anamosa Bow Hunters Club and remained very active; the Iowa Bow Hunters Association, Whitetails Unlimited, a Hunter Safety instructor for more than six years; proud member of the NRA; and coached his girls youth basketball teams. He was an avid outdoorsman and bow hunter, but the thing he treasured most was the time he was given to spend with his family and friends.
Adam was a loving son, husband, father and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his daughters.
