Immigration laws need to be addressed

To the editor:
Our current immigration laws are broken and they need to be fixed.
When employers need dependable workers to fill jobs and there are willing workers south of the border, they should be able to come in to this country through an official port of entry. The workers should not have to climb a fence, dig a tunnel or swim across the Rio Grande to work in this country.
When President Barack Obama issued his executive order, he told the members of the House of Representatives to pass a bill to help fix the immigration laws. Members of Congress need to sit down with the president to find a workable solution.
This past May, a hailstorm damaged many roofs in certain areas and some of the workers who repaired the roofs were immigrants. Many of the immigrants traveled from community to community repairing damaged roofs in areas that the local contractors were unable to repair all of the damaged roofs in a timely fashion. Both the local and immigrant workers did an excellent job and the roofs are as good as new!
The Republican Party claims to be pro-business. For a business to succeed they need to have dependable workers. When a group is anti-immigrant, they are anti-business.
The president and the members of Congress need to work together for the public interests regardless of whether they are Republican or Democrat. The president and all members of Congress are Americans.
