THOMAS DURNAN

Thomas Joseph Durnan, 70, of West Union, passed away at his home on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Thomas Joseph Durnan was born March 21, 1943, in Ossian, Iowa, the son of Philip and Lena (Sanquist) Durnan. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy after high school. He married his wife, Karen, on Oct. 24, 1990, in Woodstock, Ill.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Christina "Tina" (Randy) Nau of Tipton; son, Thomas Joseph "T.J." (Jenny) Durnan of Seattle, Wash.; grandsons, Corey Nau of Avondale, Ariz., and Garrett Nau of Tipton; sister, Marilee Jensen of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Laurence Durnan of Waterloo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bev- erly Reeves and Phyllis Marsden; and brothers, Jerald, Daniel and David Durnan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Palmer Hospice at 200 Jefferson St., West Union, IA 52175.
He will be missed.
