University of Iowa presidential search committee to reconvene in one week

In one week — allowing seven days for community members to give feedback on four finalists to become the next University of Iowa president — a 21-member search committee will meet in closed session to evaluate the top candidates.
Following that discussion on April 28, the committee on April 30 will report to the nine-member Board of Regents on its findings and deliberations.
That same day, the board is expected to interview the finalists and then name a new president to succeed outgoing UI President Bruce Harreld.
Three of the four finalists already have visited campus and participated in public forums, taking questions from a limited crop of live audience members and dozens more watching online.
The fourth finalist — internal candidate Daniel Clay, dean of the UI College of Education — is scheduled to participate in his forum at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The search committee has created a virtual platform for collecting candidate feedback, which it will review as part of its finalist assessment.
