Marlys Kinzler, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Marengo Memorial Hospital.
Marlys was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel and Marie (Bauer) Cable. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1953. On Sept. 18, 1955, she married Myron Kinzler at Fundamental Gospel Church in Williamsburg. Following marriage, the couple made their home in rural Williamsburg. They then moved to Paw Paw, Ill., in 1979 and returned to Williamsburg in 1999.
Marlys was honorary president of the North English Liars Club and enjoyed flowers, shopping, having her nails done, shoes and going to the winery and the Malt Shop.
Survivors include her husband, Myron of Williamsburg; two daughters, Lori (Steve) Meress of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Marcy (Robert) Noble of Colfax; two grandchildren, Kylie Good of Pierre, S.D., and Jennifer Meress of Chicago; two sisters, Yvonne Grimm of Williamsburg and Barbara (Lee) Kreger of Cedar Rapids; brother, Richard Cable of North English; sister-in-law, Dixie Cable of Deep River; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Green; brother, Don Cable; sister-in-law, Vera Cable; and brother-in-law, Eugene Grimm.
Celebration of Life service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Powell Funeral Home in North English, with Tim Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established for Millersburg First Responders.
