David A. Dunlop
David Allan Dunlop, 79, of Osage, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from injuries received in an auto accident. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at First United Methodist Church, Osage, with the Rev. Anna Blaedel officiating. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church.
David was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Moseman Dunlop and Mabel (Morsch) Dunlop. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in insurance. David married Ann Marie Krepelka on June 11, 1951. They made their home in Osage. He was owner of Dunlop Insurance Agency in Osage. Dick Haakenson became a partner in the insurance agency, with Craig Snider later joining them in the business. After his retirement, David was the owner of Dunlop Photography and Framing. David was also a firearms safety instructor. He was a member of Osage First United Methodist Church, Osage Conservation Club, and Osage Masonic Lodge. David enjoyed photography, golf, pistol shooting, and was very involved in the community.
David is survived by one son, Mark Dunlop of St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Debbie Dunlop of New Hampton; two grandchildren, Keara and Cassidy Dunlop of St. Paul, Minn.; and one sister, Dee (Jim) Stowell of Crystal Lake, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Joan Dunn and Jane Hollenbeck.
