Hyde, Michael Coley
Michael Coley Hyde, 42, of Marion, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Private family services were held.
Coley was born Oct. 17, 1968, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Lauren and Judy (Tallman) Hyde. He grew up in Clinton and graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1987, and then from Central College in Pella in 1991. Coley's passion for sports and life will never be forgotten. God blessed him with unmatched speed, strength and desire to win. He played football in high school and college and was feared by his opponents. At Central, he held the record for the most touchdowns in a half and as a senior moved to defensive back and was an All Conference performer. All will remember the special and inseparable bond between Coley and his brother and teammate, Erik. They will forever remain each other's heroes.
Coley had a great love for his family and friends. His sons, Skylar and Hunter meant the world to him, as did his nieces and nephews. As a supervisor for Alside Windows, he had a passion for caring for his co-workers and employees. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Lauren and Judy; sons, Skylar and Hunter; sisters, Sherri (John) Allen, Deb (Earl) Krogman and Angie (Juan) Torres; brothers, Terry Hyde and Erik (Amy) Hyde; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Coley was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his beautiful niece, Kylee, who greeted him at the gates of Heaven with a Fist Bump #5.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
