Dudek, Marcia L.
Marcia L. Dudek, 86, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 22, 2012. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, at St. Roberts Bellamine Church in St. Charles. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, followed by a graveside service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Surviving are her children, Kate (Stan) Bachinski of Toronto, Canada, Donna Dudek of St. Charles, Julie (Mark) Gustafson of St. Charles, Mary Dudek of Bellevue, Wash., and Ed (Tammy) Dudek of Renton, Wash.; and her sisters, JoAnn Baze of Renton, Wash. and Peg Norcott of Sequim, Wash.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Antonia Bachinski, Donald Bachinski, Jennifer Gustafson, Sara Dudek and Kaitlin Dudek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; brothers, Robert Barrett and Jim Barrett; sisters, Rosemary Whitman and Barbara Buckley; and grandson, Drew Gustafson.
Marcia Louise Dudek was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Ralph and Frances (Voellinger) Barrett. She was united in marriage to Donald F. Dudek on Feb. 16, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was a retired registered nurse. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering for many years at Barnes St. Peters Hospital. She was also a member of The Legion of Mary.
Memorial donations in Marcia's honor may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
