Highway 151 will see some lane closures next month because of various construction projects along the highway.
Three projects totaling $3.5 million are in the works on the Linn County highway between Marion and Springville and will temporarily close some lanes to traffic in the coming months, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Steger Construction of Dyersville will be working on all the projects, starting with bridge deck repair over East Big Creek, a little over a mile south of Linn County Road X-20 near Springville.
The second project will replace the bridge over Crabapple Creek, about 3 miles north of the junction with Highway 13. The third project will repave northbound 151 at that bridge.
As the construction extends through fall 2021, traffic changes will include lane closures and head-to-head traffic patterns, the release said. Additional lane restrictions will be effective later in the projects and traffic will not be detoured.
