At Statehouse, Gjerde will fight for schools

Eric Gjerde is exactly what the people of Marion, Robins, Cedar Rapids, and Hiawatha need. Instead of paying lip service to issues and then voting against them, Gjerde will be a strong voice for the people of his district.
Eric is a special-education teacher at Jefferson High School, and he understands the best hope for our children and the future of our state is to adequately fund our public schools.
Current Rep. Ashley Hinson voted for a funding bill that did not even meet the inflation rate.
Through his family's own experiences with Medicaid, Eric understands the people of Iowa are not getting the proper care that they need to thrive. He will work to reverse the course of privatization and MCOs that the Republicans have put us on.
With a doctorate in education policy, Eric is the champion our children need. With his background as a special deputy with the Linn County Sheriff's Office, he understands the issue of public safety. Eric knows handouts to big businesses are choking Main Street and keeping our wages down.
This November, let's elect Eric to lead the fight for change in Des Moines.
