Letter: Springville resident grateful for help

On Sept. 6, I spent a wonderful time with two longtime friends by having lunch with them at a restaurant and then going to one of their homes in Marion to visit more. Later, upon leaving this home to drive to my home in Springville and not being familiar with the area I was in, I got lost. So, I stopped to ask directions from a couple who were outside their home (in the vicinity of 2475 Pennington Drive, Marion) and they offered to help me out and told me to follow them in their car and they would lead me to the Marion Wal-Mart, where I was familiar with.
When I tried to pay the gentleman for his time and gas he used to help me find my bearings, he refused, wished me a 'good” rest of the day and a safe trip the rest of the way home and went on his way.
My many thanks to this kind and helpful couple. It was greatly appreciated.
