Richardson, Judith Gertrude

Judith Gertrude Richardson died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, of breast cancer. The body has been cremated and at a later date there will be a celebration of Judith's life in the garden she created and loved.

Judith was born in Dubuque, Iowa, in 1951, to Harold Eugene Williams and Elsbeth Pauline Hanselmann. She grew up surrounded by her Hanselmann grandparents, seven aunts and uncles and 16 cousins. It made for many wonderful memories.

In 1969, Judith graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. Then, attended Clarke College and received a bachelor's degree in history. While taking graduate Early Childhood Education classes in Iowa City she met her future husband, Robert Yale Richardson. They were married in Dubuque in 1975.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Hayley; her son, Ian with his wife, Chelsea and daughter, Melodi; and her dog, Neko.

She has left an empty place in our hearts that will be filled with memories of her.
