Tires slashed in Cedar Rapids criminal mischief string

Tires on nine vehicles in Cedar Rapids were punctured starting late Saturday night in a string of criminal mischief, police said.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said a total of 12 vehicles were damaged, mostly in neighborhoods west of Interstate 380 between Glass Road and 42nd Street NE. Broken windows and damaged side mirrors were also reported, she said.
Police said as many as three out of four tires were popped in several of the cases.
