The University of Iowa has issued a news release informing the public of another sexual assault that has been reported on campus.
According to a release issued Friday, 'University of Iowa Police received a report of a sexual assault” that had taken place on Sunday at 'an east side residence hall.”
Few other details were released about the reported crime, but this information was also part of the release: 'The only person responsible for sexual misconduct is the perpetrator. It is a violation of university policy to engage in sexual activities without clear consent from your partner. Someone incapacitated due to alcohol or drugs cannot consent to sexual activity.”
The university issues 'timely warning” messages when it receives, among other crime reports, sexual assault allegations in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
