Joyce Ann Puk, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by husband and loving family Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Hospice House of Mercy. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on First Avenue in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Thursday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. Family members will be present at 9:30 a.m.
Joyce was born in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Marquette University with a nursing degree. During her college career, she met the love of her life, Dr. John A. Puk. They were married in 1958.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Benny and Laurene Ernst. Her legacy continues with her seven children, Cindy, Mike, Jenny, Steve, Dave, J.J. and Kevin; and her 16 grandchildren.
Joyce's first love was her husband and her family. She was a devoted wife, a selfless and nurturing mother and a kind and gracious friend. Joyce exemplified kindness, compassion, grace and unconditional love to all. She was and is a beautiful lady, inside and out. We will miss you,
