Jane Magdalen Struve, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 25, 2016, after spending three years at Northbrook Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 5, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
She was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Clinton, Iowa, to Clare and Martha Seifert. Siblings were a brother, Clare Jr., and sister, Clarice.
After attending school in Clinton and Galva, Ill., she graduated from Immaculate Conception in Cedar Rapids in 1942. Following jobs at Penick and Ford and Cherry Burrell, she married Richard Struve on Oct. 30, 1948.
Survivors include her daughter, Rae Jean Yakish (Bill); son, Richard (Diane); and son, Robert; grandchildren, Brian, Brent (Erin), Brad, Jana Zach (John), Stephanie Morris (Nick) and Stacey Hill (Will); great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Camden, Greyson, Ainsley, Christian, Emma, Avery and Olivia; a sister-in-law, Elaine; and many nieces and nephews.
Those preceded in death include her parents; brother; sister and husband, Jerry; and husband, Ray, who died in February 2016.
We would like to thank all the staff at Northbrook for their sincere treatment and good care for our mother.
Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Catholic church or American Heart Fund.
