Two pitbulls bite Cedar Rapids cop

A Cedar Rapids cop used his stun gun to try to fend off two dogs this week, according to police reports.
Authorities say they received reports of two pitbulls chasing a bicyclist on 8th Street NW on Thursday morning. Officer Roger Elder arrived on scene, according to reports, and one dog bit his ankle and the other dog bit his knee and calf.
Elder reportedly used his stun gun after the dogs bit him but it does not appear the dogs were injured. Animal control workers arrived on scene and removed the dog that broke Elder's skin and left the other dog with the owner.
