Donald L. Grow, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Memorial services with military rites at 3 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Inurnment in the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum Columbarium. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Hugh) Lekin of Springville; a son, Michael of Hiawatha; grandchildren, Samantha Lekin, Jason, Joshua, Michelle and John Grow; two great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marilynn Thorington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother, Bill
Don was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lloyd and Helen Jensen Grow. He married Barbara A. Zavodsky on Oct. 22, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. Barbara passed away in 2001.
Don worked in the sheet metal department at Century Engineering and retired from there after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the Mays City Bowling League and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War.
Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Mercy Hospice House.
