Former Rider Miele wins Hobey Baker Award

Former Cedar Rapids RoughRider Andy Miele has been awarded the winner of this year's Hobey Baker Award, for top college hockey player in the country. He's the first former RoughRiders to be given college hockey's most prestigious honor.
Miele, 23, played four years at Miami of Ohio after spending parts of parts of three season in the United States Hockey League. He played all of 2005-06 and 13 games in the 2006-07 season for the Riders before being traded to the Chicago Steel for goaltender Richard Bachman, who made his NHL debut this season with the Dallas Stars.
Miele has signed as a free agent with the Phoenix Coyotes. He led the nation in scoring this season.
