CEDAR RAPIDS - Activists plan to rally in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, Jan. 21 - a day after the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump - to show support for Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
Iowans are to provide personal stories and testimonials to let elected officials know they won't stand for privatized Medicaid and the dismantling of Obamacare, according to organizers.
The 'Our First Stand: Save Health Care Rally” is part of a national day of action called for by Democratic congressional leaders Sens. Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
The rally takes place rain or shine outside U.S. Rep. Rod Blum's Cedar Rapids office, 310 Third St. SE. The public is invited.
