Riddle, Barbara Lea

Barbara Lea Riddle, 77, of Iowa City, died peacefully Sunday, April 25, 2011, at Lantern Park Care Center following a lengthy illness. Family Graveside Service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.

Barbara was born April 3, 1934, in Iowa City, the daughter of Walter and Ferne Lehman Clifford. She was a graduate of City High School. On Dec. 27, 1952, Barbara married Donald Riddle.

Barbara had been employed in the catalog department at Sears and in registration at ACT. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Pam (James) Smith of Iowa City; and their four sons, Johann (Kari) of Iowa City, Joshua (Irma) of Okinawa, Japan, Jacob (Marcia) of Greendale, Wis., and Justin of Iowa City; seven great-grandchildren, Simeon, Corrine, Ammon, Rebecca, Jonas, Ian and Audrey.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Walter Roy Clifford.
