Postseason tennis assignments

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union have released the postseason tournament sites.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy will host an IHSAA Class 2A district meet Thursday, May 12. The Cougars host Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Cedar Rapids Washington, Cedar Rapids Xavier, Iowa City West and Linn-Mar for singles and doubles competition.

Cedar Rapids Prairie travels to Marshalltown, while Iowa City High heads to Pleasant Valley.

In 1A boys, Oelwein and Union Community compete in a district meet hosted by Waterloo Columbus, while Decorah, Independence, Maquoketa, Marion and Western Dubuque play at Dubuque Wahlert.

The University of Iowa Tennis Center will host a pair of IGHSAU regional meets. Burlington,  Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Iowa City High, Iowa City West, Muscatine and Ottumwa will compete in 2A. Camanche, Davenport Assumption, Knoxville, Maquoketa, Mount Pleasant, Mount Vernon/Lisbon, Oskaloosa, Pella and Pella Christian will play in 1A.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Linn-Mar play in a regional meet at North Scott, Cedar Rapids Prairie travels to Pleasant Valley and Cedar Rapids Washington and Cedar Rapids Xavier compete at a regional hosted by Waterloo West.

Marion will compete in  a 1A regional meet hosted by Waterloo Columbus. AGWSR, Independence, Oelwein, South Tama, Union Community, Waterloo Columbus and Western Dubuque are also in the field with the Indians.
