All Together Better “One Cause” Basketball Clinic hosted by the Helen G. Nassif YMCA on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. for boys and girls ages 8-12 will definitely live up to its name.
Eager to volunteer their time and talent to the metro area youth, Jared Uthoff, Kia Stokes, Marcus Paige, Wes Washpun, Ellen Rodriguez, Dani Peyton, Matt Lassen, Tia Dawson, Dan Roalson, Josh Montague, Shannon Beck and Olivia Meyer are shining examples of talented athletes representing the “Y,” which is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility.
Many years ago, before year-round sports and conditioning, the high school athletes coached the youth sports and camps, which I feel helped us to become better athletes as we had a better sense of the whole picture of the game. These students along with other student-athletes like them are volunteering to work with youth and make a positive difference in the lives of many. They are making it “All Together Better” for the metro area.
