Letter: Sad to see our nation so divided
Dave O’Rourke

The well-written letter 'Please stop the hatred that divides our nation” on Feb. 26 prompted me to muse: How would a legislator vote on a proposed 'bill” if she/he did not know which party sponsored it?
It seems that those on the right will call you a 'socialist” if you disagree with them, while those on the left will call you a 'racist” if you disagree with them.
I think of those haunting words of President Lincoln: 'Now we are engaged in a great civil war.” How sad!
