Hill, Kenneth R. 'Kenny'
Kenneth R. “Kenny” Hill, 77, of Conesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Trinity Hospital in Muscatine from complications of heart failure. Kenny chose to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Conesville United Methodist Church. Pastor Don Hodson will officiate.
Kenny was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Conesville, the son of Norval and Susie (Schlapkohl) Hill. A lifelong resident of the Conesville area, Kenny graduated from Columbus Junction High School. Kenny served as an Airman 1st Class in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1953 to 1957. He was united in marriage to Kay Hurlbut on June 11, 1960, in Muscatine.
Kenny worked for Oral B Laboratories (formerly Owens Brush) in Iowa City for 32 years as a tool & die maker, retiring in 1995. He also farmed for many years in Louisa County and was a member of the Conesville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kay of Conesville; son, Donald Hill of Conesville; daughter, Tammy (Allen) Nicklaus of Tripoli; granddaughter, Katie Nicklaus (fiance Matt Novak) of Tripoli; and sister, Norma (Bob) Hurlbut of Muscatine.
His parents preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Conesville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
