Chapman, Vernon R.
Vernon R. Chapman, 70, of Jesup, passed away Nov. 22, 2011, at his home following an extended illness. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Vernon's life at 11 a.m. Dec. 10 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Julie Freese, celebrant, will be officiating.
Survivors include his brother, Wayne; stepson, Eric (Tanya) Van Lancker; stepdaughter, Tina Van Lancker; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, two brothers and a sister.
Vernon R. Chapman was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Ruth (Burnham) Chapman. Vernon was married to Carol Sue Rupp on March 17, 1984.
