Vivian Calloway, 79, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Anamosa Care Center. following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Greg Griffith will officiate at the services.
In lieu of flowers, a
memorial fund has been
established.

Surviving is her husband, George "Mike"; two children, Michael (Lynette) Calloway, Marion, and Gerri (Mark) Mead, Stanwood; four grandchildren, Chad Mead, Cedar Rapids, Nick (Nicole) Mead, Robins, Travis Calloway, Cedar Rapids, and Mikayla Calloway, Marion; a great-grandson, Dillon Mead; and her
sister, Lorreen Brunscheen, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Vivian Jean Christiansen was born Aug. 27, 1934, near Olin,
Iowa. She was the daughter of Amandus and Louise Nissen Christiansen. Vivian married George Calloway on Jan. 10, 1953, at Wyoming, Iowa. The couple lived in the Center Junction and Wyoming area, Longmont, Colo., and Springfield, Mo., and wintered in South Texas, before settling in Anamosa.
Vivian worked as a CNA at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello; Longmont, Colo.; Springfield, Mo.; and at the Anamosa Care Center and the Clarence Care Center.
Vivian was a fun-loving lady who enjoyed cooking and baking and made wonderful pickles for her family. She loved time spent with her grandchildren, making afghans and traveling with her husband, Mike, around the country.
