Raymond Thomas "Tom" Bowser, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 6, 2015, at his home after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24, 2015, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Tom was born March 21, 1941, in Butler, Penn., to parents Melvin and Bertha (Cahill) Bowser. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1959 to 1962, then attended Cerritos College in California. He married Susan Thornton on Nov. 1, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nev. After living in California, Tom moved to Cedar Rapids, his home for 14 years.
He enjoyed working in the yard and tinkering in his workshop. Tom worked in manufacturing management at American Brass and PMX. His time with family was most important to him, especially time with his grandsons, Jacob and Greyson.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Susan; daughter, Jenny Holmes (Mike) Becthold; and grandsons, Jacob Goedhart and Greyson Becthold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Birdie Bowser.
