Lupini, Frank R.
Frank R. Lupini, 86, of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Trinity Terrace Park in Bettendorf. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at First Baptist Church, 1401 Perry St., Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly and Jersey Ridge, Davenport. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
Frank was born in 1925 in Iron River, Mich., to Quinto and Judith Lupini. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, including preflight in Iowa City. He was united in marriage to Mary Reiter on March 22, 1946, in Iowa City. She preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 1989. He later married Irma Diviney on July 26, 1997, in Davenport. Frank was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. He then worked part-time at First National Bank in Iowa City.
Frank was a member of First Baptist Church in Davenport and the American Legion. He enjoyed his volunteer work with Mercy Hospital while he lived in Iowa City and logged over 25,000 hours of service to others. He enjoyed traveling, polka music, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include his wife, Irma of Bettendorf; daughter, Judith (Earl) Lockhart of Cedar Rapids; stepsons, Daniel (Patty) Diviney of Tracy, Calif., Mark Diviney of Burlington, and Brian (Deborah) Diviney of McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anita Echola of Crystal Falls, Mich., and Eleanor Sim of Chicago.
In addition to his first wife, Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
