Overhulser, Lucille H.
Lucille H. Overhulser, 85, of 801 20th Ave. SW, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Mark Osterhaus of St. Matthew's Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the chapel after 2 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrianna Gifford of South Sioux City, Neb.; granddaughters, Pamela and Nick Rupe of Cedar Rapids, Mary and Lee Dean of Sioux City, Iowa, and Margaret Hammer of South Sioux City, Neb.; grandsons, Robert, Willard, Troy and Marshall and Sarah Gifford, all of South Sioux City, Neb.; two sisters, Mickie Paul of North Sioux City, S.D., and Marcella and Ralph Clark of Spencer, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Redl of Cedar Falls, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wayne and Jane Miller and Bob and Ruth Milner, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Joyce and Merlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, John Redl; son-in-law, Larry Gifford; and grandson, Larry Gifford Jr.
Lucille was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Newcastle, Neb., to Peter and Helen Redl. She married Roy Lund in 1946. After his death she married Wayne V. Overhulser on Sept. 16, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1976. She worked in the packaging department at Quaker Oats, retiring in 1997.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
