Thenhaus, Carol H. 'Putts'
Carol H. “Putts” Thenhaus, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. William Harnish. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m.
Carol is survived by daughters, Karen (John) Lund of Mount Auburn and Amy (Pete) Kohl of Monmouth; grandchildren, Ryan, Brieanna, Jasmine and Keegan; great-grandson, Brayden; nephews, Ronnie (Judy) Thenhaus and Duane (Therese) Thenhaus; and special friends, Ray and Jean Pata.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Carol was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, to Albert and Louise Thenhaus. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Carol retired in 1984 from Kwik-Way after over 40 years. He was active in the M & J Baseball League, softball and slow pitch. Putts was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
