Wuestenberg, Dorothy T.

Dorothy T. Wuestenberg died May 17, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City from complications of congestive heart failure. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 24, at West Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty.

She was born Sept. 19, 1912, in West Liberty, Iowa, to Carl R. and Myrtle Meredith Templeman. She attended the West Liberty Public Schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1930. In October 1931, she married Howard L. Hetherington in Sterling, Ill. They later divorced and in 1951, she married Ray Wuestenberg in West Liberty.

Dorothy lived her entire life in West Liberty; in her later years, she once remarked that all her years had been lived in West Liberty and she couldn't imagine ever leaving it! In her younger life, she was employed for nine years as a teller at the West Liberty State Bank; otherwise her entire career was as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold; her daughter, Elizabeth; and two stepchildren, Wayne Wuestenberg and Jean Dannerberger.

She is survived by her son, William Hetherington of Austin, Texas;, stepdaughter, Marilyn Largent of Cohasset, Mass.; her grandson, Thomas W. Hetherington of Cedar Park, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Susan Hetherington.
