Black, Eloise Kay
Eloise Kay Black, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A funeral service celebrating Eloise's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Blair Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Weigert officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; son, Kevin (Kindra) Black of Des Moines; daughters, Renee Black and Deborah Black, both of Marion; grandsons, Riley and Avery Black; sister, Mary Jacobson of Melbourne; brothers, Paul (Vicki) Bowen of Lime Springs, and Mark (Pam) Bowen of Rolla, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Eloise Kay Bowen was born Oct. 18, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Florence (Broadwater) Bowen. On April 23, 1977, she married Larry Black in Waterloo. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, sewing, reading and baby-sitting young children. Eloise will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
