Booth, Warren R.
Warren R. Booth, 86, of Coralville, formerly of Montour, Gladbrook, Dallas, Texas, and Cedar Rapids, entered into eternal life April 13, 2011, at Lantern Park Nursing Home in Coralville. A Memorial Gathering and lunch will be held at noon Tuesday, April 19, at Pursel-Davis Funeral and Cremation Care in Marshalltown. Interment will take place later this fall at Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook.
Warren was born Dec. 6, 1924, to Homer and Maymie Booth in Montour, Iowa. Warren was united in marriage to Virginia Catherine (Kate) Shill in 1946. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was a farmer and assisted with funeral services at Goettsch Funeral Home in Gladbrook. Warren was a member of the Gladbrook American Legion.
Warren will be missed by his daughter, Karen (Ralph) Rosenberger of Cedar Rapids; his daughter-in-law, Phyllis Booth of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Heather and Jason Booth and Tara Rosenberger; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Jayda and Ayden; sisters, Bessie (Rolland) Gary and Myrtle Thompson; and sisters-in-law, Florence Funke and Pat Booth.
He joins in eternal life his wife of 63 years, Kate; his son, Rick; and a brother, Mark Booth.
Memorial contributions to honor Warren may be directed to Maple Hill Cemetery or Iowa City Hospice.
