Nettie Keilholtz, 92, of Manchester, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Good Neighbor Nursing Home after residing there for five years. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.
Nettie was born June 22, 1924, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Myrtle (Engles) Beaman. Nettie married Forrest Keilholtz on Dec. 30, 1940, in Manchester. After retirement, they wintered in Texas for 10 years until Forrest became ill.
She enjoyed baking for her family and friends and was very well known for her wonderful pies and cookies.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Randy; brother, Buck; sisters, Venita, Velma and Gerry; parents; and grandson, Sean.
Left to cherish Nettie's memories are her children, Judy (Jim) Holub of Mount Vernon; three sons, Jim (Carol) Cody of Wyoming, Dick (Edith) of Monticello and Ron (Karen) Keilholtz of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Marietta's Place and her final days with Above and Beyond Hospice.
