Orcutt, Myrtle B.
Myrtle B. Orcutt, 95, a resident of Crestview Acres, died Friday, April 1, 2011. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Lewis L. (Carol) Orcutt of Carroll, Ellen M. (Bill) Pithan of Lost Nation, Elaine M. Orcutt of Marion and DeEtta B. (Jim) LaGrange of Fort Madison; and her sibling, Arvilla Frarck of Pueblo, Colo. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Tom Walters of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Orcutt; a son, Thomas F. Orcutt; great-grandsons, Austin Box and Derek Box; and a great-granddaughter, April Godbey.
Myrtle was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Fort Ripley, Minn., the daughter of Leonard and Bessie (Long) Clark. She married Charles F. Orcutt on Jan. 3, 1938, in Wheaton, Minn.
Myrtle was a member of Marion Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing quilts, crocheting, fishing and baking. Her favorite was spending time with her grandchildren. Myrtle was a true homemaker and mother, always putting her family first.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
