Wenndt, Henrietta M. 'Etta'
Henrietta M. “Etta” Wenndt, 87, of Wheatland, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, with Pastor Victor Young officiating. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 63 years, Elmer; two sons, Doug and Ron of Wheatland; two daughters, Lorna (Rory) Dewell of Clarence, and Carol (David) North of Round Rock, Texas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Joan) Kroeger of Davenport; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kroeger of Stockton, and Phyllis Kroeger of Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Irene Schult; and brothers, her twin, Henry, Elmer, Leroy and Alvin Kroeger.
She was born July 7,1924, at Long Grove, Iowa, to Emil and Mabel Meier Kroeger. She married Elmer Wenndt at Davenport on March 2,1949. They farmed near Wheatland.
Etta was the most caring, loving, giving and unselfish person to all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was happiest doing things for others. Her family was the utmost important part of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for various charities including Trinity Lutheran Church and the church cemetery.
